Sausalito Youth Sailing Foundation
The purpose of the Sausalito Youth Sailing Foundation (SYSF) is to support all charitable activities, including education of on-the-water boating activities, safety, and amateur competition. The selection of scholarship recipients and operation of the Foundation shall be the responsibility of the entire board.
In recent years, SYSF has donated approximately $30,000 annually to local youth sailing endeavors. Recipients include the Cass Gidley Marina, Tamalpais High School Sailing Team, Spaulding Wooden Boat Center, Chubb Jr. Nationals, Youth sailors regatta transportation costs, Tall Ship Education Program, Youth Sail Training Scholarships, Youth sailing equipment andinfrastructure, and more.
Since our founding in 1996 we have donated several hundred thousand dollars in support ofyouth sailing activities in and near the Sausalito community. 98% of funds received go directly to programs per our mission. All foundation board members are volunteer. 501(c)3 tax number 90-0331178
